Paper City Brewing Company Riley's Stout
Paper City's Riley's Stout falls into the classic Irish style dry stout
category and was named after Holyoke, Maryland's first settling family.
Paper City's head brewer, Rick Quackenbush uses North American 2-row pale,
North American Flake, and British Roasted malts to brew this complex ale.
He then balances it nicely with East Kent Golding and Magnum hops. You'd
be hard pressed to find a darker stout. This jet black ale pours beautifully,
offering a creamy thick brown head. You should pour it into a large pint
or tall pilsner glass to see the cascading bubble effect! We found its aroma
offering both sweet and roasted malt notes. Look for traces of chocolate,
coffee and a slight smoky flavor. Overall, one of the best Irish Stouts
we've reviewed this year. Enjoy!

Paper City Brewing Company Winter Palace Wee Heavy Ale
You've got to love the name of this beer! Winter Palace Wee Heavy Ale
is a Scotch Ale only produced during the holidays each year. True to style,
you'll find it contains a higher percentage of alcohol than most ales. In
Belgium, the phrase "Wee Heavy" implies that you're drinking a
Scotch Ale, whereas in Northern England, it means you're pulling up to a
70 Schilling heavy ale. To confuse matters further, if you want a Scotch
Ale in England, you'll be asking for a Wee Dump! But wherever you are, you're
going to love this full bodied ale! Its brewed with a combination of North
American 2-row pale and British Roasted malts, balanced nicely with Cascade
hops. Note hints of caramel maltiness, toffee, and butterscotch in both
the nose and flavor of this deep ruby colored beer. We found it to have
a relatively low hop profile as the style should and picked up a hint of
coffee and chocolate malt in the finish.

Two Brothers Brewing Company Brown Fox Session Ale
Two Brothers Brown Fox Ale is an English-style brown ale. Quite a few
different malts were used to produce this brown ale, including North American
2-row pale, Caramel, Belgian Caramel Pilsner, Chocolate, Wheat, Biscuit,
Munich, and Chocolate. You could say its got a complex malt profile! The
Boys from Illinois hop it up with Styrian Goldings, German Northern Brewer,
and Fuggles hops. We found the nose to be somewhat floral and slightly citrusy.
Note that the hop profile is nicely balanced with its complex malt blend,
creating a medium bodied beer with hints of caramel and toffee.

Two Brothers Brewing Company Ebelweiss
Wow! Unquestionably one of the finest hefeweizens we've reviewed
in 8 years! Absolutely packed with all the right flavors of a traditional
Bavarian hefe. The Two Brother's award winning Ebelweiss is unfiltered and
made with traditional German malts and a Bavarian yeast strain. Look for
a wonderful pale malty sweetness with big Clove, Vanilla, and Banana flavors
evident in both the nose and flavor. Overall, a turbo charged representation
of one of our favorite late summer seasonal beers. We loved it and ordered
a couple extra cases for our panel members when placing our order for the
club!Click here to close this window.
