Harbor City Brewing Company Harvest Wheat Beer
The Harbor City Brewing Company's Harvest Wheat Beer is a traditional
filtered Belgian white ale or wit beer. The brewery adds orange blossom
honey to this handcrafted brew, coupled with select Belgian wheat malts,
orange peel, and coriander! You could say it's unusual. And quite tasty
too! We found it to be a light bodied, slightly tart, and profoundly refreshing
ale! The orange peel and coriander give this enjoyable honey wheat ale a
refreshing, citrus finish. Overall, true to style and very well done. We
loved it.
Harbor City Brewing Company Mile Rock Amber Ale
Harbor City's Mile Rock Amber Ale is a well-balanced American Amber Ale.
We found it brewed true to style. The brewery's Amber Ale is truly reminiscent
of many of the the beers that were first produced in this area of Wisconsin
in the 1840's. Note a sweet, malty nose with hints of floral hops. Look
for a similar flavor character, offering sweet malty tones, and a somewhat
spicy hop finish. Overall, very flavorful and well balanced.
Left Hand Brewing Company Black Jack Porter
We love this brewery! Black Jack Porter is a traditional London-style
ale offering plenty of chocolate malt character. It's balanced nicely with
Kent Goldings hops. Black Jack has won several gold medals in the both the
Robust and Brown Porter categories at the Great American Beer Festival in
1995 and again in 2000. It also took the Bronze in the Traditional Porter
category in 1994. We found this well-balanced porter to start on a sweet
note and then move quickly into more distinctive chocolate roasted malt
flavors. Overall, packed with flavor! If you love a big roasted porter,
you're in for a treat.
Left Hand Brewing Company Jackman's Pale Ale
Left Hand's Jackman's Pale Ale fall into the American Pale Ale category.
The brewery uses only the highest quality Centennial and Cascade hops, all
grown in the US, to produce a beer with loads of hop aroma and flavor. We
found it a medium-bodied Pale Ale offering a creamy and rich body and a
very noticeable hop bitterness. You should pick up both spicy and floral
hop characteristics. Look for heaps of malt flavor as well in this bright
